Strawberry Popsicles

Emilee and I made some strawberry popsicles, with some of  the berries we picked. Kylie was over today and had not 1 but 2 of them and said they were so good, and I should put them on my blog. She has apparently  been reading my blog. She is so cute. Of course I took pictures of Emilee making the popsicles, so I am taking Kylie's advice and blogging them.

We smashed  the berries with a potato masher until we had about 2 cups of  mushed berries. then we added 1 cup of milk, and mixed them up with the hand mixer, next we added about 2 tbs of sugar(more or less depending on how sweet you like them) Last thing is pour them into the popsicle molds and  then freeze!
                                         Mashing the berries
                                        mixing the milk and sugar
                                          pouring
time to freeze, after the clean up of the overflow. lol
the end result.. she loved them!!!

Well Sean didn't get to help with the strawberry popsicle making. He was too busy playing the wii. So I made some chocolate pudding and mixed some cool whip in and let him put the pops together.

"oops!! I stuck the wrong end in, I'll clean it off"
                                               All done!
Sean said the pudding tasted better before they were popsicles, but I thought they were pretty good!

Strawberries

Well this week we did some strawberry picking. The kids and I picked  A LOT of berries! You know me I took lots and lots of pictures since this was their first time picking strawberries. Here are just a few.

There are just way too many berries to eat before they go bad so last night I made my very first pie ever!
Well except a pudding pie I make all the time in a pre-made graham cracker crust, that doesn't count!
This is the recipe I went by  http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Strawberry-Pie-3.
I didn't really measure the strawberries, I just filled the pie with berries, and I didn't put the mint on either. I thought we would put cool whip on top when we serve it. I'll let you know how it tastes after dinner! Here are some pictures :-)

I can't wait to have a piece later!

end of the school year

I had so much fun with all the kids on their Field Day! I got to eat lunch with Emilee and her classmates.(Sean's class ate before I was finished helping with the relays, so I'll have to have lunch with him another time)

I remember when I was in grade school, my mom used to buy me a little autograph book for me to take in and have all my friends sign and put their phone numbers in so we could keep in touch over the summer. Well I thought I would get one for Emilee and Sean... I went to just about every store in the area looking for an autograph book and never found one :-(  So I decided to make them one by myself, I just got a small sketch book at hobby lobby and put stickers on the front, they are pretty simple. Emilee and Sean loved them, they thanked me sooo much and couldn't wait for their friends to sign them. I hope they had some free time to let all their little friends write in them. Are you surprised that I took a picture of them...SEE :-)
We also gave their teachers an end of the year gift. I made these cute little albums. They are made out of 4 paper lunch bags that I sewed together, then decorated all the pages. I stuck a picture of the kids and a class picture, then left all the other pages blank for them to fill in with there favorite photos. Of course here's some pictures...
this is the front of Emilee's Teachers...and the pages.

 and this is the back.

Here is the one we gave to Sean's teacher. Sean told me here favorite color was purple.

Here is the poem that went into one of the pockets.

I really enjoyed making these little paper bag albums. Emilee and I have started making one for my niece, Kylie. I'm getting Emilee addicted to scrapbooking at an early age. She really likes the BLING and STICKLES! I knew she would because what little girl doesn't like sparkly things!
